Installing the Second Fixed-Disk Drive
Use the following chart to determine the correct position of the new
drive and the installation procedure to use.
Note: When using the IBM Personal Computer AT Fixed-Disk
and Diskette Drive Adapter or IBM RT PC ESDI Magnetic Media
Adapter, fixed-disk drives in position C and D must be alike, that is,
R40 with the Personal Computer AT Fixed-Disk and Diskette Drive
Adapter, and R70 with IBM RT PC ESDI Magnetic Media Adapter.
If a different drive occupies position C, do not use this chart. Go to
the chart on page 2-12, use Steps 2 through 5 under the heading,
“Installation Procedure to Use”, and install your two new drives in
drive positions C and D.
