Section 6. Communication and Network Adapter Options

Address Range Switches

The address switches allow up to eight 8-port adapters to be

addressed. Adapter switches must be set so that no address gaps

exist, and the switch settings must agree with the number of

adapters used. That is, the first adapter installed must use the

settings shown for Adapter 1, the second adapter the settings shown

for Adapter 2, and so on through Adapter 8.

Use an opened paper clip or a ball-point pen to set the address

switches as shown below.

Installing:

You can install IBM 8-port adapters in adapter slots

2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 in IBM 6150, in slots 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 in IBM 6151

or in slots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 in the IBM 6192. See the system unit

diagram or IBM 6192 installation instructions for the adaptor slot

locations.
