To determine which blade servers are compatible with the BladeCenter S chassis,
see the IBM ServerProven Web site at http://www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/
serverproven/compat/us/eserver.html.
IBM continually updates the support Web site with tips and techniques that you
can use to resolve any problems that you may be having with the BladeCenter S
system. Go to the BladeCenter support search Web site at http://www.ibm.com/
systems/support/supportsite.wss/search?brandind=5000020 to see if any service
bulletins have been generated. In the Search field, enter the following terms: 8886,
retain, and blade. In addition, see the product information for the specific blade
server for more troubleshooting information.
In addition:
v
If the blade servers cannot see the hard disk drives in the storage module, see
“Hard disk drives not available to blade servers” on page 71.
v
If the blade servers cannot communicate through ports on a copper pass-thru
module (CPM), see “Blade server cannot communicate through CPM ports” on
page 55.
v
If one or more blade servers is not able to access or communicate with the

enabled for the I/O module. From I/O Module tasks, click

Admin/Power/Restart
.
2.
If the problem persists, see “Troubleshooting I/O module problems” on page
