Fan module problems
v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem
is solved.

See the parts listing in the BladeCenter HT Problem Determination and Service Guide to determine which
components are customer replaceable units (CRU) and which components are field replaceable units
(FRU).

If an action step is preceded by “(Trained service technician only),” that step must be performed only by a
trained service technician.
Symptom Action
A fan module is always
operating at full speed.
1. Make sure that:
v The other fans are installed and working.
v At least one management module is installed, and it is active and working.
2. Reseat the fan module.
3. Call for service.
A fan module is not working.
1. Make sure that all power cords are connected to a compatible power source
and that the power source is working (see “Supplying power to the BladeCenter
HT unit” on page 13).
2. Reseat the fan module.
3. Call for service.
Media tray problems
