New Entry Models
Drive Prices Down for Scalable Enterprise Nodes
Overview
Entry models of the xSeries 440
server establish new price points for
xSeries server nodes powered by
Enterprise X-Architecture
technology. Two-way or four-way
SMP models, using Intel
Xeon
processors, bring prices down while
scalability and advanced
mission-critical features remain.
These 4 U rack-optimized servers
feature mainframe-inspired
technologies that bring outstanding
performance and reliability to Intel
processor-based servers. Enterprise
X-Architecture features include:
•
XpandOnDemand scalability
—
Affordable, modular node building
blocks ready for eight-way
processing and beyond
•
XceL4 Server Accelerator Cache
—
Up to 64 MB of high-speed
system cache memory propels
memory-to-processor
performance to new levels
•
Active Memory
—
Memory
mirroring and Memory ProteXion,
similar to hot-spare on DIMM
extend up time
•
Remote I/O expansion
—
Lets you
triple the number of high-speed,
PCI-X I/O expansion slots
available
