Fully loosen the bar locking knob (8) (side cover lock) to remove
the side cover, exposing the sprocket.
Place the chain (7) over the tip of the guide bar (6), making sure
that the cutters are facing in the direction of rotation. Fit the bar
onto the engine unit and fit the chain around the bar.
Ensure that the guide bar groove through the guide pins and the
chain is around the sprocket wheel. If it does not fit, it can be
adjusted slightly with the chain tensioning knob (9).
Pull the guide bar forward until the chain is closely seated. Make
sure that all the drive links are in the groove of the bar.
Adjust the chain tension with the tensioning knob. Rotating the
knob clockwise and anti-clockwise can increase and decrease the
chain tension respectively.
The tension is correct when the chain can be pulled about 3mm
from the bar when using your finger and thumb. Do not over-
tighten as this will reduce the life of the chain and guide bar
(should be adjusted after every 30 minutes of use).
