Performing maintenance
Changing VME elements
DANGER
Spark formation during dismantling /
maintenance
Risk of explosion / Danger of fatal injury
►
Carry out maintenance work outside or when
there is no explosive air environment present.
►
Only use spark-free tools when performing
replacements in explosion-hazard
environments.
Check the service life of the VME elements using cyclical lab analyses,
especially using MPC values and their trend behavior.
Change the VME elements at least every 6 months.
You can view the current operating pressure of max. 8 bar on the pressure
gauge of the varnish exchanger column.
There may still be fluid in the filter bowl depending on the type of
connections to the unit. Let this fluid out via the lower ball valve (DRAIN).
1. Switch off the unit at the main switch.
2. Close all shut-off devices at the inlet (IN)
and outlet (OUT).
3. Empty the varnish exchange column
completely via the drain ball valve
(DRAIN).
4. Open the air bleed screws (X) of the
varnish exchange column and at the filter
housings of the pre-filters and
contamination filters.
Do not completely unscrew the air bleed
screws. The air bleed screws have
ventilation slots.
