6.5 Conducting the extraction
WARNING
Brush discharge/corona discharge
Bodily injury due to the ignition of an explosive atmosphere.
u
Connect the test item to a potential-free earth.
ü
The test item hoses are to be connected to the
according to the information given in the previous chapters.
ü
The test item is connected to the grounding connection.
1. Enter the required analysis parameters in the user interface of the
CTM-SC module and then press the button and the foot switch (depend-
ing on the software setting). The CTM-SC supply module pumps the test
liquid into the receiver tank, via the selected port and the test item.
2. The test liquid (now called the
) carrying the particulate con-
tamination flushed off the component, is sucked through the filter mem-
brane, with the help of a membrane pump, via connection R and flows
back to the CTM-SC supply module.
ð
The membrane pump will continue running once extraction is complete.
The message "… Pause … wait until test liquid has been extracted" will
appear on the user interface.
3. Remove the test liquid from the test item.
4. Once the test liquid has been fully extracted, press the button on the user
interface.
5. Remove the filter membrane from the filter membrane holder in order to
analyze it.
O
The extraction is complete.
6.5.1 Changing the direction of flushing
The primary flushing direction, from the extraction device through the test item,
is from port A‘ -> R‘. You can reverse this flushing direction R‘ -> A‘. via the user
interface.
6.5.2 Draining the test item
Certain test items cannot be fully drained of the test liquid after extraction. For
details, see …
