Cutting speed and
choice of tools
The cutting speed is determined by the blade speed and the head feed speed.
While the head speed is provided by the downstroke movement of the head, the
blade rotation speed can either be fixed or variable. When using the S---20DS , it
is important to select the correct type of blade for the material to be cut. This
chapter explains the limitations and specific applications of the different types of
blades.

The basic version with 4 pole motor, is provided with the following cutting speeds:

The selection of this speed is performed using the mechanical variator according
to the values noted in the following diagram:
The mechanical speed adjuster is an instrument that, applied to the S---20DS ,
allows to vary the number of revolutions of the motor spindle.
This instrument eases the task of whoever must perform particular works,
adapting the rotation speed of the band to the specific material--- The advantage
is that of optimising the use of the blade, both because it can adapt a blade that
does not have teeth specific for the type of material and because it stops rapid
wearing.
The dial notes the values of the revolutions per minute (RPM) of the mechanical
speed variator: turning the knob in a clockwise direction increases band rotation
speed, vice versa, in an anticlockwise direction it decreases band speed. The
