GEAR HOUSING – SPINDLE SHAFT
Dismantling – spindle shaft
Remove outer circlip
Remove the circlip using circlip pliers.
Pull out the spindle shaft
The spindle shaft is force fitted in the gear housing. Using the adjoining
solution, the spindle shaft together with bearing can be removed without the
risk of damaging the components.
Block up the gear housing ensuring the spindle shaft is at the right height
in relation to the jaws and tighten the jaws to create a counterhold.
A cold chisel serves as counterhold for the puller on the opposite side. Place
the puller claws on the spindle shaft's wrench attachment.
The spindle shaft, together with the bearing, can now be pulled out using the
puller.
If the bearing is very firmly attached in the gear housing, providing heat
with a hot air gun around the bearing seat will help reduce the force fit.
Function
The spindle shafts gear wheel is driven by the upper gear wheel of the inter -
mediate shaft. At the upper storage point, water is supplied to the drill spindle.
The transmission in this machine is rarely the cause of any problems.
Incorrect handling of the machine could, however, cause the actual spindle
shaft to bend, or damage the tool bracket. The spindle shaft must then be
replaced.
Service work
If only the spindle shaft, spindle shaft's lower bearing, or radial seal is to be
corrected, you do not need to remove the primary or intermediate shafts.
Only the spindle shaft gear wheel, at the top, and its wedge are to be removed
before the shaft is pulled out of the gear housing.
Important
Be careful not to scratch or deform the
shaft where the seals make contact,
immediately above the bearing and the
shaft end by the gear box cover.
Seal ring
The seal ring is easily removed and fitted
from the outside of the gear housing. A
34 mm socket is usually suitable as a
tool.
Lubricate the seal ring when assemb-
ling and knock it in level with the
inside
of the gear housing
.
