7 Controlling a Conference

7.2 Requesting the Floor
Context
A site chairing a conference is considered a chair site while other sites are considered
non-chair sites. If a conference has a chair site, non-chair sites must request the floor from the
chair site to speak at the conference. Once a site has the floor, other sites at the conference,
except the audio-only sites, can view and hear that site.
Procedure
Step 1
On the touch panel home screen, tap
More
to display the conference control list.
Step 2
Tap
Request Floor
.
If multiple sites request for the floor, the chair site selects a site from the requesting list and gives the
floor to that site.
The site has unmuted microphones until the chair site gives the floor to another site.

7.3 Displaying or Hiding Captions
Context
Captions include middle captions, banners, and bottom captions. When the captions function
is enabled and captions are available in the conference, the captions are displayed on the local
HD display.
Procedure
Step 1
Tap
More
on the home screen to display the conference controls list.
Step 2
Tap
Display Captions
to enable captions to be displayed on the local HD display.
Step 3
Tap
Hide Captions
to hide captions.

7.4 Requesting/Releasing Chair Control Rights
The conference chair site has more conference controls available than other sites.
Context
If no chair site has been selected to chair the conference, any site can request chair control
rights. If

was set for the conference, you must enter the password to
request chair control rights. The conference chair site has more conference controls available
than other sites. After releasing the chair control rights, you become a non-chair site and only
