The OptiX PTN 7900-24 subrack consists of the service board area, system control board area, switching fabric
area, power supply board area, Fan powered box area and cable routing area.

The functions of these components are as follows:
Power interface board area: houses the PIU boards.
Power supply board area: houses the PSU boards.
Cable trough: for routing fibers.
Cable trough: for routing cables.
Air intake vent: air duct entrance.
Service board area: houses the processing boards.
System control board area: houses the system
control, communication, and auxiliary processing
boards (SCA boards).
Switching fabric area: houses the cross-connect
boards (XCS boards). (Slots 5-8 and 17-20 in a
cabinet support 400G cards.)
