3.2 Function
The pre-separator is connected, with the help of hoses, between the grinder and the dust
extractor. The airflow coming from the grinder and into the pre-separator is saturated
with dust. The cyclone forces the air to rotate and release a large amount of the dust,
down into the collection volume above the Longopac bag. The air then continues to the
dust extractor where the remaining dust is filtered out. See Figure 3-2, page
8 .
If the Longopac needs to be replaced during operation, the bypass valve is closed. When
the bypass valve is closed, the connection between the pre-separator's cyclone and the
volume that stores the dust before it ends up in the Longopac is blocked. It will not then
