3 Machine description
3.1 General Information
HTC GL PS is a cyclone type pre-separator for industrial and building use intended for
the dry vacuuming of dust particles, e.g. concrete, wood, stone etc. The pre-separator is
equipped with a 3" Camlock connector for quick, easy and safe connection of the
suction hoses between the grinding machine and dust extractor or other accessories that
are to be used for dust collection.
The pre-separator's function is to capture the majority of the dust instead of allowing it
to be sucked into the dust extractor. As a result, the dust extractor's filter is relieved. The
filter has a longer service life and a higher performance is maintained, resulting in more
effective dust collection for the grinding machine. For handling the collected dust, a
Longopac sack system is used.
The separated dust is collected in the volume under the pre-separator, where it can be
emptied by dropping it into the Longopac by closing the bypass valve (Position
1Figure 3-1, page
7 ) or turning off the dust extractor.
To prevent the Longopac from being sucked into the pre-separator, it is equipped with a
pair of dust covers that close during operation. These sit in the bottom on a level with
the Longopac holder (pos 9 Figure 3-1, page
7 ).
The pre-separator is equipped with a bypass valve (Pos 1 Figure 3-1, page 7 ). This
valve makes it possible to use the dust extractor even during replacement of the
Longopac on the pre-separator(Replacing Longopac during operation, page
12 ).
