5.3.1 Use of Screening mode for surface temperature rapid measurement
1. Switch on the instrument by pressing and holding key for approx. 3s
2. Set the emissivity parameter
to a value between
0.95
and
0.98
(typically 0.95)

Activate the "Screening" mode (see § 5.2.2.4)
4.
Activate the alarm condition and set the maximum temperature threshold associated to
one measurement spot (see
Fig. 73
– left part)
5. Select the desired color palette (suggested Iron or Grey – see § 5.2.3.2
)
6. Select automatic measuring mode (see § 5.2.3.3)
7.
Perform the correct focusing of the subject on test (see § 5.1.1)
8.
Frame the subject on test at a recommended distance of 1m. With subject temperature
higher than the set alarm threshold value the following actions are performed by the
instrument (see §
Fig. 73
– right part):

The temperature value associated to the selected cursor and the limit threshold are
shown with flashing red color in the upper left part of the display
¾
The bar associated with the palette turns red and flashes on the display
¾
A continuous audible alarm is active as long as the value measured remains above
the set threshold
