Scratches and small cracks in the surface can be repaired by the owner.
Small repair kit with all necessary materials for minor repairs is available from
the sailplane manufacturer.
Read carefully the “Repairs“ on the following pages prior to any repair.
Major repairs must only be carried out by the manufacturer.
3.8 Repairs
The repairs which cannot be carried out within the maintenance are classified
as “Major repairs“.
Generally, all repairs of load carrying fiber reinforced parts - primary structures
(e.g. a hole in the wing shell) belong to this class.
Major repairs are allowed to be carried out only in aircraft repair services which
dispose of appropriate equipment, qualified and skilled staff, and finally, hold
the necessary approvals to carry out such repairs.
The sailplane manufacturer can provide to the repair services technical data,
spare parts and material, in order to keep the airworthiness certificate of the
repaired aircraft.
Only the repairs of non-load carrying parts and load carrying parts in pure shell
without reinforcements may be done without detailed technical data. When such
repairs are carried out, the type of glass cloth of sailplane particular part as well
as composition of layers must correspond to the Simplified Structure List (see
6.2).
For repair of such parts follow the instructions specified at ch. 6.
