Remove the serial port.

To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.

Removing and replacing the optical drive

Prerequisites

Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have a T-10 Torx screwdriver available.

Procedure

1.

Back up all server data.

2.

If installed, 

remove the bezel

.

3. Power down the server

.

4.

Remove all power:

a.

Disconnect each power cord from the power source.

b.

Disconnect each power cord from the server.

5.

Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.

6.

Do one of the following:

•

Extend the server from the rack

.

•

Remove the server from the rack

.

7. Remove the access panel

.

8.

Disconnect the optical drive cable from the system board.

9.

Remove the component.
