Drive Carrier LEDs
The server chassis uses SATA drives. Each SATA drive carrier has two LEDs.
Table 4-2
describes
the functions of the two LEDs.
Refer to
“Installing and Removing Disk Drives”
for instructions on replacing failed drives.

Disk Carrier LEDs
LED
Description
Blue
Each Serial ATA drive carrier has a blue LED. When illuminated, this blue LED
(on the front of the SATA drive carrier) indicates drive activity. A connection to
the SATA backplane enables this LED to blink on and off when that particular
drive is being accessed.
Red
An illuminated red LED indicates a SATA drive failure. If one of the SATA
drives fails, you should be notified by your system management software.
