Tape Cartridge Usage

This chapter describes the magnetic tapes and how to handle them properly.

Tape Cartridges Defined

The 1/16 Tape SuperLoader uses DLTtape IV tapes.

DLTtape IV cartridges contain a DLTtape, which provides a storage capacity of up
to 40 GB (native) per cartridge. The tape cartridge shell is charcoal and has no
pattern.

Note:

The DLT1 tape drive automatically unloads any other cartridge types and any

cartridges that have an unrecognized format.
