Before removing the touchpad, follow these steps:

1.

Prepare the computer for disassembly (

Preparation for disassembly on page 36

).

2.

Remove the base enclosure (see 

Base enclosure on page 36

).

3.

Remove the battery (see 

Battery on page 38

).

Remove the touchpad:

1.

Remove the three Phillips M2.0 × 2.0 screws that secure the touchpad bracket (1), and then remove the 
touchpad bracket from the computer (2).

2.

Disconnect the touchpad cable from the ZIF connector (1) on the touchpad.

3.

If tape secures the touchpad to the computer, remove the.

4.

Remove the three Phillips M2.0 × 2.5 screws (2) that secure the touchpad to the computer.
