Setting up the switch

Unpack and check included parts.

Switch
•
Accessory kit (installation hardware)
•
AC power cord for 1850-8XG, 1850-24G, 1850-24G-POE+, 1850-48G, and
1850-48G-POE+ switch models

Prepare for installation. To avoid personal injury or product damage, review the
“Installation and safety precautions” (page 3)
.

Power on and verify that the Self-Test completes normally.
For the 1850-8XG, 1850-24G,
1850-24G-POE+, 1850-48G, and 1850-48G-POE+ switches, connect the power cord to the
power connector at the back of the switch, and then into an electrical outlet.
4.
Mount the switch.
Unplug the AC power from the switch before mounting it.
Rack mounting:
Use a #1 Phillips (cross-head) screwdriver to attach the accessory kit
brackets to the switch using the eight 8-mm M4 screws. Then use four 12-24 screws to
secure the brackets to the rack.
24–port and 48–port switches:
NOTE:
The HPE OfficeConnect 24-port and 48-port switches can also be mounted in
4-post racks and cabinets by using the HPE X410 1U Universal 4-post Rack Mounting Kit
(J9583A). For instructions on using the kit, see the documentation that is included with the
kit.
