Windows for Workgroups 3.11 (SMB Network)
1. Start File Manager.
2. Select Connect Network Drive… in the Disk menu.
The Connect Network Drive dialog is shown.
3. In the Path field, type the entry for your new CD-ROM
server, for example
\\HP
hhhhhh
\CD
, where
hhhhhh
are
the last six digits of the LAN hardware address.
4. Click OK. You are done.
OS/2 (SMB Network)
1. Open an OS/2 window.
2. At the OS/2 prompt, type:
net use <drive>: \\HP
hhhhhh
\cd
where
hhhhhh
are the last six digits of the LAN
hardware (MAC) address.
Example:
(If LAN hardware address = 0060b0db000b)
net use E: \\HPdb000b\cd
UNIX (NFS on TCP/IP Network)
To mount the CD-ROM server on a UNIX system you will
need root privileges. Perform the following:
1. Create a directory for the CD-ROM server.
mkdir <directory>
2. Mount the CD-ROM server.
mount <IP address>:/ <directory>
where
<IP address>
is the IP address that you assigned
to the CD-ROM server during TCP/IP configuration.
In ‘Path’, type:
\\HP
hhhhhh
\CD
Then click OK.
Use default, or select
unused drive letter.
