Using the Analyzer
To Monitor Alarms and Errors on a Channel
Alarms and errors on a channel are displayed in Channel Monitor. To start
Channel Monitor see “To Monitor a Channel (VPI/VCI)” on page 2-26.
The summary shows details of the alarms and errors that occurred at each
layer. Click a tab for more information about ATM and AAL alarms and
errors.
Note If the analyzer receives a large number of errors for a channel, it detects that
channel’s AAL type as Null. If you want to monitor AAL statistics for that channel, you need to
set up the channel and set the AAL type manually.
Ensure you select the
Summary tab. Use
Channel Monitor to
interpret the effects of
the alarms and errors.
