Before removing the speaker, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power cord.
4.
Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 28
).
5.
Remove the following components:
a.
Hard drive (see
Hard drive on page 29
)
b.
Memory/Mini PCI card module compartment cover (see
Memory module on page 31
)
c.
Optical drive (see
Optical drive on page 35
)
d.
Switch cover (see
Switch cover on page 37
)
e.
Keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 39
)
f.
Display assembly (see
Display assembly on page 41
)
g.
Base enclosure (see
Base enclosure on page 46
)
Remove the speaker:
1.
Disconnect the speaker cable
(1)
from the system board.
2.
Remove the Phillips PM2.0×9.0 screw
(2)
that secures the speaker to the top cover.
3.
Remove the speaker
(3)
.
Reverse this procedure to install the speaker.
