Cabling
Cabling requirements
The following cables are required for all configurations:
•
Four DC power cables per chassis.
•
One power data management cable from the chassis to its power shelf.
•
A maximum of three chassis can be cabled to a power shelf for N+1 power redundancy.
For configurations that include the optional HPE APM module, the following additional cables are
required:
•
One consolidated management cable from each chassis to the HPE APM module.
•
One power data management cable per power shelf to the HPE APM module.
Cabling the chassis
WARNING:
Be sure that all circuit breakers are locked in the off position before connecting
any power components.
CAUTION:
To avoid damaging the fiber cables, do not drape cables from one side of the rack
to the other and do not run cables over a hard corner or edge.
CAUTION:
To avoid damaging the cable, squeeze the thermal boot on the cable before
disconnecting from the connector.
After the hardware is installed, complete the following cabling procedures:

Connecting the chassis to a power shelf (on page

IMPORTANT:
To complete this procedure, be sure to locate the power management cable
(part number 745919-001).
To install the component:
1.
Connect the power cables from the chassis power cage to the power shelf.
2.
Connect the power management cable to the chassis management module with the cable's plastic
tab facing up.
CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the power management cable, release the cable by
pressing the latches when disconnecting, instead of pulling directly.
