Removing a HIM

Follow these steps to remove a HIM:

Step1

Position the router so that the rear panel of the router faces you.

Step2

Loosen the captive screws on the HIM with a flat

Pull the HIM out of the slot.

Before pulling a HIM out of a slot, loosen the two captive screws. Otherwise, the panel of the

HIM may be seriously deformed.



After removing a HIM, place it in an antistatic bag.



If you do not install a new interface module where the HIM was removed, install two blank

panels to prevent dust from entering the chassis. For the installation procedure, refer to
“

Installing a Blank Panel

” in Page 6

Installing and Removing a MIM

Installing a MIM

Follow these steps to install a MIM:

Step1

Position the router so that the rear panel faces you.

Step2

Remove the lower blank panel from the slot where you will install the MIM. For the removal

procedure, refer to “

Step3

Gently push the MIM into the slot along the slide rails.

Follow these steps to remove a HIM:
