Using

A

verage

Detection

When

the

spectrum

analyzer

is

used

in

linear

mode

,

video

ltering

provides

the

average

value

of

a

signal.

After

the

signal

has

been

maximized

and

the

peak

value

has

been

measured,

an

average

measurement

may

be

made

.

Video

(post-detection)

ltering

provides

averaging

of

higher

frequency

components

(such

as

noise)

at

the

output

of

the

envelope

detector

When

the

bandwidth

narrower

than

the

resolution

bandwidth
