Using the M Register
The

keys perform memory operations on a single storage register,
called the M register. In most cases, it is unnecessary to clear the M register, since

replaces the previous contents. However, you can clear the M register by pressing

.
To add a series of numbers to the M register, use

to store the first number and

to
add subsequent numbers. To subtract the displayed number from the number in the M register,

followed by

.
