Below are the steps to replace the lithium-ion battery, part no.
BAT00019
, available from Horner APG.
1.
Make sure the user program and any data stored in retentive memory is backed up.
2.
Disconnect all power from the XL7 OCS unit including I/O power.
3.
On the back of the XL7 OCS, unscrew the battery plate cover using a Phillips head screwdriver.
4.
Slide battery plate off the bottom of the unit.
5.
Remove the old battery.
6.
Dispose of the old battery properly; see the above warning on disposal regulations.
7.
Insert new battery by aligning the positive (+) end of the battery with the positive (+) sign on the
board.
8.
Slide battery plate cover back on the unit from the bottom up and re-tighten the screw in place.
9.
Apply power and restore program and registers if necessary.
10.
Allow the unit to remain powered near room temperature (10-35°C) for 6 to 8 hours. This will
ensure the battery is fully charged properly for the first time.
11.
Once the battery is charged, test the battery function by removing power and re-applying.
Registers and clock function should be retained and there are no error messages on power up.
12.
Once charged, the battery management system will maintain the battery at optimal charge
depending on use and temperature.
