Selecting the sample properties-specific working curves
The MLSS meter has the capability of analyzing a SS value to adjust another value to the SS
value and the capability of selecting three types of working curves according to sample
properties in advance.
When activated sludge is measured, select MLSS.
(Concentration range: 0 mg/L to 20000 mg/L)
Select Kaolin for a white sample whose scattering is larger than light absorption.
(Concentration range: 0 mg/L to 1000 mg/L)
Select Clay for black and inorganic mud.
(Concentration range: 0 mg/L to 20000 mg/L)
Q
Working-curve selection procedure
Put the converter in the working-curve selection mode.
1.
From the Meas Mode, hold down the HOLD key to establish the HOLD mode. When
the
▼
key is pressed, the Setup menu appears.
2.
From the Setup menu, press the ENT key and the
▼
key. When the ENT key is
pressed, the working-curve selection screen appears on-screen.
3.
Press the ENT key, and select MLSS, Kaolin or Clay with the
▲
/
▼
key.
When a working curve is selected, the auxiliary display part blinks.
MLSS corresponds to PtnA and Kaolin to Ptnb. Clay corresponds to Ptnc.
4.
After a working curve is selected, press the ENT key. The selection will then bee
completed.
Tip
z
If 5000 mg/L is exceeded, the light absorption degree does not become proportional to the
concentration, depending of the type of a sample. Three types of working curves (curve) are
available to use to convert a light absorption degree to a concentration.
z
Select a working curve that will show a high correlation to an analyzed value.
