Push plug on power nozzle cord

l

completely into cord receptacle

underneath hand grip.

Always disconnect cleaner from elec-
trical outlet before attaching or

removing power nozzle plug.

.

For cleaners with plastic wands,

squeeze tabs on separate cord clip

together while pressing cord into small
slot (E).

Snap one cord clip (F) onto each exten-
sion wand. Adjust cord,

placing

excess between nozzle and bottom
cord clip.

a

For cleaners with metal wands,

position cord into cord clips (G) on

wands, placing excess cord between

nozzle and bottom cord clip.

Note: On models with wand storage

clip,

the bottom cord clip is on the wand

storage clip.

To reduce the risk of electric shock, this

appliance has a polarized plug (one

blade is wider than the other). This plug

will fit in a polarized outlet only one way.

If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,

reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician to install
the proper outlet. Do not change the
plug in any way.

After assembling cleaner, plug
cord into electrical outlet. Turn
cleaner on by depressing ON-OFF

pedal (A). To turn cleaner off, depress
pedal again.

q

On models without cord rewind
pedal,

release cord by rotating

cord hook

 inward before

ing ON-OFF pedal (A).

Power nozzle

The power nozzle adjusts automatically
for cleaning hard surface floors and vari-
ous heights of carpets.

It is not recom-

mended for very irregular surfaces
such as brick, slate, and certain par-

quet floors unless it is unplugged
from the cleaner.

This will stop the agi-

tator from rotating. If desired, a special
wall/floor brush (shown in “Cleaning
tools” section) can be purchased for this
task, if it is not included with your model.

Handle positions

Edge cleaning

q

The handle has two positions when

used with the power nozzle:

upright and operating.

To lower handle to operating position,

place your foot on the power nozzle and
pull handle back.

q

, Brushed edge cleaning is

ed on both sides of the nozzle to

remove embedded dirt in carpet near
baseboards and furniture. Guide either
side of nozzle parallel to edge of carpet
or furniture.
