Meter with M-Bus interface and 2 impulse inputs EW6001BK...
Devices of the type
EW6001BK...
are equipped with an M-Bus interface. This
serves as a communication hub for transmission of the measured values to an
M-Bus control unit. In addition, the devices are equipped with 2 impulse inputs.
This allows the impulses from one or two water meters with impulse output
(Reed contact) to be recorded and transmitted to the M-Bus control unit.
Add-on modules cannot be fitted onto
meters of the type
EW6001BK... .

Connection to the M-Bus
The M-Bus cable is installed on the basis of EN 13757-2.
Please note the following instructions:
• Use high-quality spring-loaded terminals or crimp connections suitable for
the cross-sections.
• Avoid unnecessary scanning of the M-Bus.
• Put the M-Bus into operation in one session if possible.
• Ensure the M-Bus has an uninterruptible power supply.
• Avoid switching the M-Bus off.
•
Avoid short-circuits in the M-Bus cable during service work and retrofit instal

lations.

Addressing
Each metering device is assigned a unique ID number (device number) from
the factory. This ID is transmitted by the metering device to the M-Bus system
as a secondary address.
The metering device data are generally queried using this secondary address.
Transmission of the cold quantity
In the case of device types with combined heat/cold metering, a virtual second
metering device with the serial number of the heat meter +1 will be displayed
in the M-Bus system. This device is assigned the medium “Cold” in the data
record.
E.g.:

Readout parameters heat/cold metering
The following parameters are read out of the heat meter and transmitted to the
M-Bus control unit:
• Device number (8-digit)
• Medium/software version
• Time/date
• Error status (readout 5 or 45
times per day)
• Error date
• Current consumption values
(heat or cold, volume)
• Due date
• Due date value (heat or cold)
Optional via application selection:
• 15 monthly values (heat or cold)
• Flow
• Capacity
• Energy
•

Transmission of impulse values
If water meters with impulse output are connected to the heat meter, the heat
meter transmits the impulse measurement data in addition to the heat meter-
ing data.
