ENGINE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

ENGINE REMOVAL

Place the scooter on its center stand and support the frame
securely.
Drain the engine oil if the crankcase is to be serviced
(page 3-9).

Remove the body cover (Page 2-4).

Remove the following:
— Throttle valve (page 5-4).
— Choke cable (page 5-5).
— Spark plug cap (page 3-6).

Loosen the screw (1 no.) and disconnect the air supply
hose.

Disconnect the starter motor ground wire from frame.

Disconnect the air duct from the frame.

Remove the rear brake adjusting nut, disconnect the brake
cable from the brake arm and remove the brake arm joint.

Remove the brake cable from the crankcase and cable
clamp.

ADJUSTING NUT

BRAKE ARM JOINT

BRAKE CABLE

Disconnect the fuel tube from carburetor and vacuum
tube.

Disconnect the following:
— starter motor (2P) connector (page 17-3).
— alternator wire connectors (page 11-2).
— Ignition pulse generator wire connector (page 16-5).

Release the wires from the wire band and clamp.
