Function and device overview
The Homematic Wireless Weather Data Sensor is ideal for a great varie-
ty of outdoor applications. The multifunctional weather data sensor offers
a wide range of applications by recording almost all relevant weather and
climate data:
•
temperature,
•
humidity,
•
wind direction,
•
wind velocity,
•
onset of rain,
•
rainfall,
•
brightness (relative) and
•
hours of sunshine.
The weather data sensor transmits the data to the desired reception sta-
tion via radio (e.g. to the Homematic Central Control Unit or Homematic
Wireless Weather Data Center). You can monitor the current values at
any time or use the recorded data to control other Homematic devices.
The sensor is equipped with bi-directional wireless technology and trans-
mits its weather data at cyclical intervals to the reception station. The du-
ration of each interval is between 120 and 184 s.; this is redefined after
each transmission.
You have the option of putting the sensor into a quick-retrieval mode
which enables the display unit to immediately request the current wea-
ther data at any point in time.
The sensor can be placed up to 300 m away from the reception station
(depending on local conditions; see "“11 General information about radio
operation“ on page 56).
Thanks to battery operation the weather data sensor can be positioned
anywhere and easily mounted.
