OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
• Put one or two pre-warmed cups under the filter holder spouts. If you are only making one cup, place the
cup in the centre. Pre-warm the cups using hot water.
• The function knob (5) should be in the
position. Wait until the indicator light
OK
(1) comes on. Turn the
function knob to the position. Your espresso will begin to be dispensed. Interrupt the process as soon as
the desired amount of espresso has been reached by turning the function knob to the
position.

Caution! Risk of Burning!
Never remove the filter holder (10) during the brewing process.
• Serve the espresso immediately after brewing.
• Turn the filter holder to the left to remove it from the device. Remove the coffee grounds by tapping the filter,
and continue with your espresso preparation.
• When you are finished preparing espresso, turn the function knob to the position.
• Let the device cool down sufficiently and clean it and any attachments after each use. Refer to section
CLEANING AND CARE

Please note:
When the drip tray (13) is full, the red fluid level indicator (14) will rise visibly above the drip
tray grid (12). Empty the drip tray and correctly re-insert it together with the drip tray grid into the device.
Suggestions
• Use only clean, fresh drinking water to prepare espresso.
• Dispose of coffee grounds after each brewing. Never use the same coffee grounds for a fresh brewing. The
aroma will be lost.
• When buying ground espresso coffee, make sure it is suitable for espresso machines.
• To keep your espresso hot longer, always pre-warm your cups with hot water.
• Store ground coffee in a cool, dry, and dark place.
• Always store coffee in the original package. Re-seal the package after opening, and put it into a container or
a can.
• Cans or containers used for storing coffee should be airtight. This will keep the aroma fresh for a long time.
• You may also store the ground coffee container in the refrigerator.
• Always keep the device clean and clean it after each use (refer to
CLEANING AND CARE
).
Preparation with espresso pods
• Keep the brew head (15) clean to prevent water escaping from the filter holder (10). Remove any remaining
ground coffee from the brew head with a cloth.
Caution!
The area might be very hot.
• Pre-heat the espresso machine as described in section
Preheating the device
.
• Place the smaller filter (8) in the filter holder, and put the coffee pod into the filter. Take care to place it as
closely as possible in the centre of the filter.
• Press the coffee pod into the lower part of the filter, and make sure that the paper rim fits snugly against the
sides of the filter.
