IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Installation location
• Place the device on a flat, sturdy and non-slip surface.
• Allow a minimum distance of 15 cm around the device.
• Use this device in dry indoor areas only and never outdoors.
•
Warning:
Do not use this device near water or heavy moisture; e.g. in a damp basement or beside a
swimming pool or bathtub.
• In order to reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, do not expose the device to fire (fireplace, grill, candles,
cigarettes and so on) or water (water drops, water splashes, vases, tubs, ponds and so on).
• Keep this device away from all heat sources like for example, ovens, hot plates and other heat-producing
devices/objects.
• Protect this device from extreme heat (over 35°C) and cold (under 5°C) as well as from direct sunlight and
dust.
• Never place the device in locations where the temperature might fall to 0°C or below. Water might freeze in
the interior of the device and damage it.
Specific safety instructions

Caution! Risk of Burning!
During operation, surfaces may get very hot. Avoid contact with hot parts of the
device: steam/hot water jet, filter holder, filter and brew head. The steam/hot water jet and the brew head
emit hot steam or hot water. Keep small children away from the device.

When the function knob is turned to the “Steam“ position, the steam/hot water
jet emits hot water.

Caution! Risk of Burning!
Never remove the filter holder while coffee is brewing, or when the function
knob is turned to the “Coffee“ or “Steam“ position. Hot steam may be discharged suddenly and cause burns.
• Do not move or transport the device while in operation, or with hot water in the water tank. Hot water may
spill out and cause burns.
• Never use the device unless all the original parts such as filter holder, filter, drip tray, and drip tray grid are
being used together and are not damaged. If any parts need replacement, please contact your customer
service representative.
• Do not overfill the water tank.
• For your own safety, use only fresh drinking water. Use only cold water in the water tank. Pull the power plug
before filling the water tank.
• Never use the device without water, to prevent damaging the pump.
• Never use the device without the drip tray and drip tray grid.
• Turn all switches/knobs to the OFF position or to zero before disconnecting the device from the power
supply.
• Never cover the device while in use.
• Parts of the device become very hot. Unplug the power cord and allow the device to cool sufficiently before
inserting or removing accessories, and before cleaning or storing.
• Clean the device and other accessories after each use. Refer to section
CLEANING AND CARE
