3.3.4. Monitoring systems
The unit is fitted with various safety monitoring devices.
Temperature sensors
All recirculation pumps are equipped with a PTC thermis-
tor temperature sensor set in the motor windings. In the
standard design propeller pumps, the connections of the
temperature sensors are led on the outside via the con-
necting cable and are to be connected via the T1 and T3
conductor ends of the connecting cable in the switch cab-
inet, so that the motor is switched on again automatically
after it has cooled down.
Rotation Direction Check
Following successful electrical connection, the correct
rotation direction of the propeller must be checked. The
propeller must rotate clockwise as seen from the motor.
If the rotation direction of the stirring propeller is incorrect,
transpose two of the three conductor phases (L1, L2, L3)
coming directly from the mains.
Warning: rotating propellers! Do not touch the rotat-
ing propellers! Before performing maintenance or
repair work, switch the machine off and let the rotat-
ing parts come to a standstill!
Seal monitoring of oil barrier chamber:
Agitator motors in the HRG series are fitted with seal
monitoring of oil barrier chamber as standard.
Two sensors monitor the conductivity of the oil filling. The
sensors are to be connected to an evaluation instrument
with a galvanically isolated sensor circuit (electrode relay)
via the connecting cables with the cable-end designations
S1 and S2 in the switchgear. If the shaft sealing leaks, wa-
ter will enter the oil chamber and changes the resistance
of the oil.
The response sensitivity should be adjustable from 0-100
k
Ω
. The standard setting is 50 k
Ω
. During ex-performance,
select electrode relays with intrinsically safe circuits for
sensors.

3.3.5. Propeller
A self cleaning propeller from stainless steel is used.
