“transportable” installation type
With this installation type the product is equipped with a
pedestal. It can be installed and operated at any location.
Please observe the values for the maximum submersion
depth and the minimum water coverage, and remember
that the surfaces of the product become very hot.
“S1” operating mode (continuous operation)
At the rated load, a constant temperature is reached that
does not increase even in prolonged operation. The oper-
ating equipment can operate uninterruptedly at the rated
load without exceeding the maximum permissible tem-
perature.
“S2” operating mode (short-term operation)
The operating time is specified in minutes, for example,
S2-20. That means, that the machine can work 20 min-
utes and should pauses after it, as long as the machine is
cooled down to 2K over medium temperature.
Operating mode “S3” (intermittent operation):
For these operating modes, after the abbreviation, the
duty cycle is displayed as well as the cycle duration if it
deviates from 10 minutes. Example S3 30% means, that
the machine can work 3 minutes and afterwards should
pauses 7 minutes.
“Sip operation”
Siphoning operation is similar to dry running. The product
operates at full speed, but only small amounts of liquid
are pumped.
Sip operation is only possible with certain types; see
the “Product description” chapter.
Dry-run protection
The dry-run protection is designed to automatically shut
down the product if the water level falls below the mini-
mum water coverage value of the product. This is made
possible by installing a float switch.
Level control
The level control is designed to switch the product on or
off depending on the filling level. This is made possible by
installing a float switch.
2. Safety
This section lists all generally valid safety guidelines and
technical instructions. During transport, setting up, ope-
ration, maintenance etc., all notes and instructions must
be respected and complied with. The plant operator is
responsible for ensuring that all personnel adhere to the
following notes and instructions.
2.1. Instructions and safety guidelines
These operating instructions state instructions and safe-
ty guidelines to prevent damage to property or injury to
persons. In order to mark these instructions and safety
guidelines unambiguously for operating staff, they are
printed in bold and are accompanied by danger symbols.
The symbols used correspond with the generally applica-
ble guidelines and regulations (DIN, ANSI etc.).
Safety guidelines always begin with the following signal
words:
Danger:
Persons may suffer the most serious injuries or death.
Warning:
Persons may suffer the most serious injuries.
Caution:
Persons may suffer injuries.
Caution (tip without a symbol):
Considerable material damage may be caused, and actual
total loss cannot be excluded.
The signal word is followed by the designation of the
danger, the source of that danger, and its possible conse-
quences. The safety note ends with a tip on how to avoid
the danger.
2.2. Directives used and the CE marking
Our plants are covered by
•
various EC Directives,
•
various harmonized norms,
•
and various national norms.
Precise information about the Directives and norms used
can be found in the EC Declaration of Conformity at the
start of these operating instructions.
Various national regulations are in addition assumed as a
basis for using, assembling and dismantling the product.
These include, for example, accident-prevention regu-
lations, VDE regulations, the German Equipment Safety
Act, and many more. The CE marking is shown on the
data plate, which is situated on the motor housing.
2.3. General safety guidelines
•
Work of any kind (assembly, dismantling, mainte-
nance, installation etc.) may only be done with the
plant switched off. The product must be isolated from
the grid and secured against being switched on again.
All rotating parts must have come to a standstill.
•
It is imperatively necessary to stop immediately if de-
fects endangering safety occur. These include:
•
Failure of safety and/or monitoring systems
•
Damage to electrical equipment, leads or insulation.
