Turn the trap in the ground pipe in such a
way that the cover with the ball is blown off
of the pipe with the wind.
4.3 Maintenance
• Clean the trap and the reservoir at least once a week with soapy water and dry the trap and reservoir (
no
liquid in the reservoir during capture
);
• Do not use hot water or other aggressive cleaning agents;
• The black lure ball catches dust, clean it occasionally with water;
• Cut some small drainage holes in the zoom of the cover if water remains there;
• Experiment with moving the trap to find the optimal trapping position;
• Place the with the tube construction facing the wind, so that the cover will not be blown against the
tubes;
• In the event of severe weather or wind, remove the entire hanging part of the trap;
• At the end of the season, store all plastic parts (preferably hanging) indoors.
The trap is constructed of solid materials. In case something gets damaged, spare parts can be ordered at
Holland Animal Care.
5 THE CATCH
Horseflies do not drown in ordinary water. The addition of detergent lowers the surface tension of the water,
which will make them drown quickly.

If necessary, stand on a ladder, unscrew one
of the hooks from a suspension rubber and
remove it from the ring. Slide the wind
rubber over the reservoir to one side of the
trap.
Take the reservoir from the top by the
preformed grip and take it out of the ring
together with the trap.
Place the reservoir with the trap still in it
upside down on the table: add a little
detergent and pour it full of water. This will
drown the surviving horseflies.
