Splitter to TCVRs

Note:

Fiber connections: Connection distances will depend on existing cable infrastructure.

6.2.2

Using a Transceiver With a Fiber Connection

To connect a Arcadia Central Station to a splitter (FSII-SPL) using Fiber, you must install Fiber

modules to the Arcadia Central Station and the splitter.

Modules are available for single mode Fiber cable (HLI-SMFO) and multi-mode Fiber

cable (HLI-MMFO).

Modules must be ordered from Clear-Com as a pair, one for the Arcadia Central Station

and one for the splitter.

Modules can be hot patched. There is no need to power off devices.

To install the modules, simply remove the dust cap from the connector port and slide the

module into the connector.

Note:

When using a Fiber connection, all devices must have local power supplied.

6.2.3

E1 Transceiver/Splitter Port Connection Type (RJ45 or Fiber)

Transceivers/splitters can be connected to the Arcadia Central Station using either RJ45 cable

or fiber cable.

The connection type for the ports is determined by a software setting in the Core Configuration

Manager (CCM). Default setting is

RJ45

The CCM determines the connection type for both connectors; you must chose either RJ45 or

Fiber. It is not possible to mix these connection types on the Arcadia Central Station.

Setting FSII Transceiver/Splitter Connection Type

1. In the CCM, navigate to

Hardware > Hosts > Wireless

2. Select

FreeSpeak II > Transceiver Port

type as required.
