Write-protect tabs
The cartridge has write-protect tabs to prevent
overwriting on recorded data. Make sure that the
write-protect tab is set to the side where recording
is possible.

Note:
When recording special events, be sure to
use a new disc which has never been removed
from cartridge or caddy.
Note:
Writing similar to recording is performed
even with simple editing or deletion. Make sure that
editing or deletion has been securely performed
with the disc removed from cartridge or caddy.
Note:
If there are dust, scratches or dirt on the
surface of disc, block noise may appear in image
or sound may be interrupted. Take great care
when handling discs so that no dirt or fingerprints
adheres to them.
Note:
This DVD video camera/recorder has a
function that allows recording, avoiding portions
of the disc with dust, scratches or dirt [The DVD
video camera/recorder sets to pause (
) status
and automatically restarts recording (
)]. This
will interrupt recording for several seconds to sev-
eral minutes, and multiple thumbnails will be cre-
ated (see p. 66) in one recording as shown in the
figure. In this case, the recordable time will de-
crease.
