3.2 Target Size and Sighting
・
Although the field of measurement and the sighting
almost coincide, actually the field of measurement
corresponds to the diameter for 90% optical
response. The object whose temperature is to be
measured needs to be larger than the measurement
diameter by an adequate margin

at least 1.5 to 2
times larger.
・
The sighting beam must encompass the area to be
measured up to the max. measurement distance of 4-
ft. 12-in. (1.5 meters).
・
Even if the measurement distance is greater than 6-
ft. 7-in. (2 meters), temperature is displayed as a
mean value of the target size if there is no substance
to absorb or interrupt the infrared ray from the
object being measured.
