Figure 4-1.  Counterweight

Replacement

WARNING:

The counterweight weighs in excess of 75 lb (34 kg). Use two people 
when removing or installing the counterweight. Failure to do so can 
result in personal injury.

1. Install the counterweight (C) into the bed (D).

2. Install the three nuts (A) onto the screws (B) securing the counterweight 

(C) into the bed (D).

3. Remove the Hi-Lo cylinder braces. Refer to “Hi-Lo Cylinder Brace—

SA1695” in the 

TotalCare® Bed System Service Manual (man112)

.

4. Install the head end covers. Refer to “Cover—Head End” in the 

TotalCare® Bed System Service Manual (man112)

.
