3  Transport and setup 

3.1 Scope of delivery and transport inspection 

The delivery specification of the HICO-VARIOTHERM 550 
consists of: 

•

  HICO-VARIOTHERM 550 unit 

•

  Mains cable 

•

  Hose bracket 

•

  Operating instructions 

•

  Hose extension 

•

  Water pads (optional according to order) 

 

 

►  Check the delivery for completeness and for any visible 

damage. 

►  Immediately report an incomplete delivery or damage caused 

by inappropriate packaging or transport to the forwarding 
agent, the insurance company and the supplier.

 

3.2 Unpacking 

To unpack the unit: 

•

  Take the unit out of its box and remove the packaging material. 

•

  Place the unit on a level and horizontal base with sufficient 

load bearing capacity. 

 

 

 

Condensation in the device can lead to failure. 

►  After unpacking, the unit must be acclimatised for at least two 

hours before commissioning when there are temperature 
differences of more than 8 °C of the intended ambient 
operating temperature.
