3 Packaging
3.1
Ultrastar Serv24 Packaging Overview
The main box of the Ultrastar Serv24 packaging consists of two layers of packaging totaling 39.5 kg / 87.2
lbs: The first layer contains the Rail Kit, CMA box, and foam protection. The chassis is on the second layer
of the box. The rail kit and CMA are each packed in their own box. The chassis is packed in foam and ESD
safe bag and contains the drives and PSUs pre-installed. The power cables are tucked into the foam that
protects the chassis.

Ultrastar Serv24 Unpacking Procedure
1. Cut the plastic wrap that surrounds the outer box with a box cutter.
2. Cut the secure straps that hold the box together.
3. Cut the tape that is holding the box shut with a box cutter.
4. Open the outer box and remove the CMA box and Rail Kit Box. Set them aside.
5. Remove the protective foam from the top of the chassis and remove the chassis from the ESD safe bag.
6. Open the CMA box and remove the CMA arm. Set it aside.
7. Open the Rail Kit box and remove the rails. Set them aside.
8. Remove the chassis from the outer box.
