5.1  Acquiring a Satellite Fix 

Before the HEMA NAVIGATOR 5” can determine your location for navigation,  
it requires a GPS satellite fix or lock.  
 
To acquire a GPS fix, it is important that you are in an area that is open to the 
sky, (not inside an enclosed building) and away from tall buildings and trees.  
The initial fix may take anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes. This length of time to 
obtain a fix will be greatly reduced the next time the navigation software is

Once the HEMA NAVIGATOR 5” has acquired a satellite fix, the unit will 
automatically zoom in to your current position on the map and display a street 
level view of your location. Your location/position will be represented by a red  
dot if stationary or an arrow if moving.
