C. Tools and Supplies Needed

Before beginning the installation be sure the following

tools and building supplies are available:

Reciprocating saw

Framing material

Pliers

Non-combustible sealant

Hammer

Gloves

Phillips screwdriver

Framing square

Flat blade screwdriver

Electric drill and bits

Plumb line

Safety glasses

Level

Tape measure

1/2-3/4 in. length, #6 or #8 self-drilling screws
Misc. screws and nails

600° Silicone sealant

300° Silicone sealant

D. Inspect Fireplace and Components

WARNING! Risk of Fire and Asphyxiation!

Damaged

parts could impair safe operation.

DO NOT

install dam-

aged, incomplete or substitute components.

CAUTION! Risk of Cuts/Abrasions.

Wear protective

gloves and safety glasses during installation. Sheet metal

edges are sharp.

1. Unpacking
a. Remove the carton

b. Remove corner posts
c. Remove the non-combustible kit from the rear of

the fireplace

i. Set aside for future installation

d. Remove the weight assemblies from the holders

on the front of the pallet

e. Remove the weight holders from the pallet
f. Pivot carry handle forward to allow access to side

cover panel

g. Remove the side cover access panel from side of

unit

i. Remove 10 screws from each side. Retain

screws.

ii. Lay the nailing flanges aside. See Figure 2.6.
