A. GENERAL

B. INSTALLING EXHAUST VENT AND INTAKE AIR VENT

1. Install the venting system in accordance with these instructions and with the National Fuel Gas

Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54, CAN/CGA B149, and/or applicable provisions of local building codes.

2. This unit is a direct vent appliance and is listed as a Category IV appliance with Underwriters

Laboratories, Inc. VENT AND INTAKE AIR VENT

C. APPROVED MATERIALS FOR EXHAUST VENT AND INTAKE AIR VENT

D. EXHAUST VENT AND INTAKE AIR VENT PIPE LOCATION

1. Determine exhaust vent location:

Do not use Foam Core Pipe in any portion of the exhaust piping from this unit. Use of

The Phoenix Evolution must be vented as detailed in The Venting Section Part 8. Ensure the
exhaust and intake piping comply with these instructions regarding vent system.
Inspect finished combustion air intake and exhaust piping thoroughly to ensure all joints are
well secured and airtight and comply with all applicable code requirements, as well as with
the instructions provided in this manual.
Failure to provide a properly installed vent system will cause severe personal injury or death.
