REMOVING THE BAFFLE (OTIONAL)
In order to connect the flue to the Clydesdale, you will
need to remove and install the baffle. Use Figure 6 to
refer to while removing and replacing the baffle.
BE CAREFUL WHEN HANDLING THE BAFFLE,
NOT TO PUNCTURE THE CERAMIC BOARD
To remove the baffle:
1. Lift the front of the baffle. This relieves the
weight from, and unlocks the shelf tabs.
2. Pull forward to free the baffle.
3. The baffle should now be free to drop down and
pull out of the front door, or rest on the floor of
the insert
Once the baffle is removed from the unit, you will have
direct access to the flue collar, and all venting connections
To install the baffle, reverse the order of removing the
baffle.

It is very important to follow minimum clearances for
chimney connectors to combustibles such as walls and
ceilings when installing the stove near non-
combustible surfaces

DO NOT CONNECT THIS UNIT TO ANY AIR
DISTRIBUTION DUCT OR SYSTEM
Secure all joints, including attaching the stovepipe to the
Fireplace Insert's flue collar, with three sheet metal
screws. Install #10 x 1/2" (3 mm x 13 mm) sheet metal
screws into the holes pre -drilled in the flue collar.
Leaving off the screws can cause joints to separate from
the vibration that results from a creosote chimney fire.
Long runs of stovepipe to increase heat dispersal are not
recommended
. Using longer lengths of stovepipe or more
connecting elbows than necessary increase the chances of
draft resistance and the accumulation of creosote buildup.
Remember, the NFPA has recommended, minimum
clearances for chimney connectors to combustibles such
as walls and ceilings. Once the Fireplace Insert is
installed at safe distances from these combustible
surfaces, it is important to maintain these connector
clearances for the remainder of the installation.
