The threshold value is defined for each channel, indepen
dently of the FBG sensor detection method, through the
“set thrhld" button (number

Fig. 7.24

). The “get

thrhld" button (number

Fig. 7.24

) can be used to

return the threshold value that is stored for the selected
optical channel on the interrogator.

The threshold value can be defined from 0 to 60 dB and
corresponds to the considered power level for the FBG
peak computation, so that side lobes and ground noise
are disregarded.

The threshold value is updated every time the “spectral
view" tab is selected.

Important

Measurement settings can influence sensor readings.
